E.SUN Bank invites artists from around the world to apply for the “E.SUN Art Awards 2026”, an international painting competition inspired by the landscapes, ecology, and cultural identity of Yushan National Park, with music introduced as a new theme for this year’s edition. The competition is open to artists internationally, with categories for the General Public, Students, and International Artists, and offers prizes of up to NT$1,000,000.
Eligible media include oil, acrylic, and gouache painting. Through diverse artistic perspectives, the award aims to celebrate environmental sustainability, cultural heritage, and creative expression while supporting emerging artistic talent.
Applications are open until Friday, July 17, 2026 (Taipei time) via online registration. The competition welcomes artists worldwide and especially encourages submissions from artists based in Korea, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and France.
Participants holding Republic of China (Taiwan) citizenship may apply to the General Public or Student categories, while overseas artists and foreign nationals residing in Taiwan are eligible for the International Artist category.
Each category will award one First Prize, one to three Special Selections, and one to five Outstanding Works. Winners will receive prize money, certificates, and inclusion in the official exhibition catalog. Total prize pools are NT$3.5 million for the General Public category, NT$1.4 million for the Student category, and US$130,000 for the International Artist category.
Since its launch in 2012, the E.SUN Art Awards have received more than 5,000 submissions and, in 2022, introduced an international category that attracted artists from 72 countries. Selected works will be exhibited across Taiwan, offering audiences the opportunity to engage with contemporary artistic interpretations of Yushan and its cultural landscape.
